Stay informed about lift emergency procedures, safety measures, and important steps to follow in case of power outages or technical issues.

Lift Safety Awareness for Residents

In modern residential societies, lifts have become an essential part of daily life. While they provide great convenience, it is important for all residents to stay informed about basic lift safety practices, especially in situations like power cuts or technical issues.

This guide is a simple advisory to promote a safer and more prepared community.

Important Lift Safety Tips for Residents

• Know the Emergency Button:

Every lift is equipped with an emergency alarm button or intercom. If you ever get stuck, press the emergency button to alert the security or maintenance staff.

• Stay Calm During Power Failures:

Our community lifts are equipped with an Automatic Rescue Device (ARD) system. In case of a power outage, the ARD will safely move the lift to the nearest floor and open the doors. Please remain calm and wait patiently.

• Do Not Attempt to Force Open Doors:

Trying to manually open lift doors during an emergency can be dangerous. Wait inside and use the emergency communication system if needed.

• Save Emergency Numbers:

Keep important contact numbers for security, maintenance, and facility support saved in your mobile phone for quick access during any emergency.

• Report Any Issues Promptly:

If you experience or notice unusual noises, jerks, door delays, or any abnormal lift behavior, please report it immediately to the facility management team. Early reporting helps in preventing bigger problems.

Our society’s lifts are equipped with ARD systems for added safety.

During a power failure, the ARD automatically shifts the lift to the nearest floor and opens the doors, allowing passengers to exit safely without panic.

Residents are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the basic working of this system and trust the process during any unexpected outage.

Safety is a Shared Responsibility

Lift safety is not just the job of maintenance teams — it requires awareness and cooperation from all residents.

By following simple safety practices and promptly reporting any irregularities, we can create a safer living environment for everyone.

This information is provided purely for residents’ awareness and is intended as a general guideline. For any service-related concerns, please contact the society’s facility management team.

Stay Informed. Stay Calm. Stay Safe.

Watch a helpful video by Shri Sharad Khandelwal Prabhuji demonstrating the ARD system in Krishna Bhumi lifts.

The key takeaway: stay calm. During the test, all indicator lights remained on, providing comfort inside. The lift safely reached the nearest floor and opened within 1 minute and 30 seconds — about the time it takes to cook 2-minute noodles!
